There is a steemit chat that works like a private message.
How do you use that?
You click the lines on the top right for the drop downmenu and go.to steemit chat type in a user name.and it sends them a message.
Sign in on busy.org instead of Steemit.com
Same Steem network, but private messages are supported there :-)
