Depression is horrible. And truly we need to learn not to give it a chance to destroy us. It slows down progress in a "wonderful" way.
And you're right about your suggestion on how to deal with it. God is the first to run to. Only Him defines us.
I also suggest finding someone you trust enough to talk to about it.
