When I came back and saw the "views" counter on my post I was a little bothered at first, too. Mostly because I was getting very few comments on my posts and that was a little disheartening to see people upvoting my content but not actually responding or reading it, even. I am glad to know the counter isn't an accurate representation of how many are actually viewing the content, but I can see where it can cause some confusion and frustration.
