RE: PRACTICAL THINKING. — Decentralized politics, decentralized technology, etc.

I'm proud to be the first user of the tag #nobidbot after @whatamidoing's post created the tag. I can see it actually being used, the way things are going. The post above is just first.

:)

Content is king just about everywhere on the internet. Consider that this is the case everywhere except for Steemit. Hmm.

Hmmmmmmm.

So is anybody really wondering how it can be the case that now there are < 70,000 active users out of > 900,000 accounts?

I personally think the trending page needs to be deleted. And maybe users encouraged to look at tags and a bit of randomization added to front ends?

There's absolutely no possibility that trending won't be gamed. Not with stake weighted voting, and rules for ranking and voting which are endofunctions, which apply to their own outputs, resulting in recursion, and sensitive dependence on conditions, and at least one (there are many in fact) harmful pure dominant strategy for trending. It's either bid bots or ring voting. In neither case is content properly king. And that means users will leave, because they won't be happy.
