The IMPORTANT part about proper tags and upvoting

Thousands of submissions are posted daily, and by the looks of it, it does not look like that will be slowing down any. With all the new content, it is not surprising to see so many original posts become buried with not-so-original content, but this is why we have the power to upvote and flag. The awesome aspect of Steemit is that it is not limited to anything! If you feel something is original and deserves a few moments to be viewed, recommend doing so by clicking that upvote button...but if it looks like spam or anything abusive, flag it down.

The power of Steemit does not come from an executive team that makes decisions around a table in a luxury office, it comes from us; the community, because without us, Steemit would not be able to grow and expand. Do not be afraid to do what we're supposed to do with this social platform, instead, sift through original content, if you like it, show your praise, upvote it. If you don't like something, voice it, flag it, do anything but don't ignore it. If it's not relevant to you, move on, but look for the ones that are.

TLDR;

We need to upvote original and likable content, and flag unwanted posts. Without performing the basic functions of Steemit, we are neglecting our part to help promote growth.

Thanks for reading guys! HAPPY #STEEMING!

You are absolutely right about original content being buried by unoriginal content and people getting discouraged. But the thing is we can't vote for more than 20 posts without diluting our voting power.

Anyways, I would like to share a link of my first original post here on Steem. It would be really nice of you guys to check it out. Thanks in advance! :)

Good point, however it is according Alexa site:Steemit.com is
Slow (2.721 Seconds), 75% of sites are faster.

As Steemit continues to grow, I am positive they will implement improvements for faster load times. I am not sure if anyone saw that Steemit would grow THIS FAST.
