I am trying to answer the question in general. Regarding Steemit, I believe it is another type of addiction. It’s a reward cycle, you get a squirt of dopamine every time you get a like or a positive response on Steemit. The fact that this reward translates in money doesn´t create a different effect.
I don't think there is a different effect, but that it easier to condone it, to yourself and the outside world
