The future of journalism in crypto currency backed media

Journalism today

As you know by now, the MSM got labeled properly as fake news, finally, but that's not the most important part yet, as we'll dive into a bit of historic events that marked the start of this decades long trend. It's pretty much clear today that the media always talks about geo-political targets, un-interesting facts while providing vague analysis of events, never delivering consistent and educative content.

The spark that led to writing this article is the recent war on MSM by the White House, as mister president Donald Trump literally trolls journalists from major MSM organizations, a response to several attacks on his behalf, mostly trying to discredit his political ability to handle serious state issues such as middle east, Asia-Pacific pivot, Russia and so on.

So here we are today, with the president of the most powerful country in the world, trolling journalists of the major MSM organizations, in a brief picture of the media wars:

As a consequence the war on MSM led to numerous rumours of his impeachment, a clear indication that the establishment doesn't like the president, especially because he shares different views on the broad picture. However, this isn't the case, as more and more investigative journalists cover the move towards accepting the established status quo, and indicate the signs that the agenda is here to stay.

The MSM very much provides some sort of entertainment news, and is very much profit focused. Of course the profit is and was mostly all about fiat currencies, which makes sense to conclude: pay fiat currency for fake news. It's pretty much vice-versa.

A look back

The phenomenon in its early stages was really really hard if not impossible to discover and/or disclose, it was established that the MSM is absolutely unbiased and trustworthy. We all remember the great John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) speech:

You can imagine this was shocking to most people, and even more shocking was his assassination followed by his controversial speech. Over the years, the situation was very much the same until the Internet was widely adopted and changed the world forever.

Starting with the early years of Internet adoption, the established newspapers were labeled as old media and began to decline. At that time it was estimated that in the year of 2043, the last newspaper will be printed, as less and less people afford the time to buy newspapers and more and more read the news on the Internet.

We might say all nice and good, but is it? Well, who regulates the Internet? The governments. Who has the most power to exercise this power? According to the MSM, it's the US government! Now what's going on?

With many attempts to limit the power of the people, governments try to regulate the Internet, you all know of SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, whatever it is, right? At this point you might be thinking, what in the world does the intellectual properly have to do with Internet freedoms and journalism?

Simply put, on the basis of these enacted regulations, you cannot say anything bad about someone from the political scene because the content is copyrighted by a certain MSM organisation, which gives them the legal power to counter or shut down anyone who uses that content in any way, even for a honest and independent news briefing.

Over time this entire charade led to the creation of a new independent media called alternative media, providing alternative views, but we'll have a look at that in a second.

In recent news, some MSM organizations are almost living on food stamps. To protect CNN's image, Google removed over 15,000 one-star reviews on the App Store.

So the world is finally awake and vigil. We now know what's going on.

A glimpse into the future

As we know, crypto-currencies are backed by modern technologies such as: top level encryption, block chain, smart contracts, paper wallets, everything we need for personal/professional banking, fast international transfers and so on. Economists might say, if not otherwise advised, that these crypto-currencies actually have intrinsic value, even more so with their unbiased and decentralized nature. We might say that finally the brain took over the banking dynasty.

Similarly, look into the future of journalism, fully independent and backed by crypto-currencies. Exactly what the society today really needs. There is simply no need for competition, everyone can be a part of it, everyone can shoot a picture or a video of some event. And finally here's where it gets interesting, as platforms such as Steem and the future Bitcontent by Kim DOTCOM will also help supporting independent media.

I'll list a couple of most important independent channels I know, trust and support:

  • Julian Assange with Wikileaks, top secret documents, geo-politics
  • James Corbett with corbettreport, geo-politics
  • Ben Fulford with his website, (ex head of the Asia-Pacific Forbes), geo-politics
  • Luke Rudkowski with wearechange, geo-politics
  • Peter Schiff with his channel, financial reports/analysis
  • Jeff Berwick with his TheDollarVigilante, financial reports/analysis and crypto-currency advocate, here on steam @jeffberwick
  • Jim with AdoredTV, tech journalism
  • unknown with NerdTechGasm, tech journalism
  • Wendell with Level1Tech (ex TechSyndicate), tech journalism, hardware news and reviews
  • Andreas Antonopoulos with his channel, crypto-currency expert and advocate
Note: I am not affiliated with any of the above people in any way, except that I share most of their views.

More and more come every day, bringing back real democracy, so steem on people.

A note from the author
I'm not a journalist, I'm just an average guy speaking out my mind. I am just tackling new horizons, got a bit bored writing tech only documentation ;)
