ICARUSLIV3S plays the first episode of Dusk. My thoughts and perspectives on how this relates to Project Stray.
So the interesting thing to keep in mind here is that Dusk is currently the most recently released Indie first person shooter that is a direct competitor to Project Stray. Its definitely worth taking a look at the video of the live stream for a bit to get a good idea of what the game is like.
Also give the video an upvote if you can. :)

The game looks pretty damn good. What do you guys think about it? Everything about Dusk makes me feel really good about the state of Project Stray. Both games are old school shooters with differing styles of play.
Dusk appears to be like a mix of Blood and Quake.
Project Stray is closer to a mix of Doom and Dark Souls with a lemon twist of borderlands or Fallout 3 in terms of loot and inventory management.
Project Stray is mechanically more complex and is aimed at being a very hardcore experience with a no lube attitude while Dusk looks to support a wider range of player skill levels. Either way, I have a feeling that both games will very likely appeal to a similar audience overall.
The release of Dusk being sold at $20.00 has made me reconsider the price of project Stray. I have been planning to sell Project Stray for a starting price of $9.99 with the promise to increase the price in increments as I continue to patch more and more content into the game. Buy the game early and you get the full package at a cheaper price.
But now I am looking at the games and comparing them while thinking to myself $9.99 is way too low for a game like project Stray.
Then I realize, not only is Dusk already being sold for $20.00 but that is only for the pre-purchase of the game. That means that the final product will likely be even more expensive.
Holy crap I must be thinking about the pricing of Project Stray completely wrong!
If I look over the steam spy data it seems like I would be in pretty good shape if I were to do as well as the Dusk devs with my own game.

I am not really sure how many people are on the Dusk team but for me I am the lone dev on my project. That means If I were to even come close to those numbers I would be doing really well.
These are really interesting times for sure. I seriously have no idea how things are going to pan out for me. But it seems to bode very well if Dusk turns out to be a financial success. Hell even if it just breaks even!
So with all of that said, I decided that the starting price of Project Stray will be 14.99 and I will continue to patch the game with more content while I slowly raise the price to an acceptable threshold.
With all of that said, it would be even more awesome if I could make the first steemit exclusive game! Man, it seems like it would be pie in the sky but its certainly not impossible. All I would need is an audience and a way to host the game files in a way where it unlocks accounts after sending me the correct amount of steem or SBD. :D
All that might need is one dev and one well timed shout out! All I need to do is keep the momentum! Which I am already planning to do!
Hey, a great job your are doing. $14.99 is affordable price not too expensive and you gain gain something at the same time. For $20 in the beginning, well it really depends. If I wanna just test out a game, than probably too expensive. If you really love what you see 20 is ok as well.
So 14.99 is a good decision I guess.
