Will STEEM reach half a million accounts until the end of the year?
Intro:
Some days ago I was researching a little about the steem blockchain and I've stumbled on this website: https://steemdata.com/stats, which is basically a database containing all the information that is on the steem blockchain. It makes the developers job easier, because you can get all the data that you want doing simple querys.
I was playing with some query when I started thinking, will STEEM reach half a million users until the end of the year? So I decided to estimate how many users steem will have on January 1st.
The data I've collected:
First I've collected the number of accounts created in the last 31 days which you can see below:
Sorry but I've started writing this on 11/26/2017, that day the database only had the number of created accounts until 11/22/2017.

So in the last 31 days 41,744 new accounts were created. This give us an average of 1,346 new accounts per day!
Than I've got the total number of accounts:
On 26/11/2017 that number was 458,815.
With that number and the average of new accounts (1,346) I've created another table with the expected number of accounts per day, which you can see below:

The conclusion:
I started writing this on 11/26/2017 and according to my table we will have something around 468,241 accounts today (12/03/2017), but we already have 474,120 accounts today, so probably we will reach the half a million mark before I expected.

Fantastic work @th1nkfast! I'm really looking forward to Steem reaching that milestone. Bear in mind this is the worst case scenario. If we see a spike in the price of Steem, which it looks like we will very soon, there will be a sharp increase in new accounts created that could take us well over that number.

I agree with you, half a million is just the beginning. Also utopian recived a donation of 50K steem from @ned to start creating accounts, wich can bring a lot of new usets to steem!

STOPAlmost half a million steemit users, that is incredible. Based on your figure analysis, there is a possibility that at the end of year or early weeks of next year, we will reach that half million marks.
Its really catching up the pace. People are so addicted to being on fb and twitter. I'm sure getting paid for similar thing will attract more and more
