ANIMATED STEEMIT PROFILE : .gifs actually play on busy.org profiles!
so you know i like to tinker with things right?
well i just found out that you can have
animated banners as profile backers if you use a gif!
so i kinda just threw one together for my profile.
they won't work on steemit.com. . .
but they look ACE on busy.org/@teamhumble <-- LOOK! :)
@dayleeo found me this great template on @jerrybanfield blog for the correct sizing so i went to work inside of keynote to make myself a bad ass animated gif banner. it's static on steemit.com obviously but i'm presuming that applications that support the direct url it will show the gif. i'm pretty pumped, it's pretty static and basic, i literally threw this together in like 10 minutes. .. .

i'm thinking of putting this together as a #steemgigs offer, maybe make up a template and put it up for sale on gumroad for people to buy for a couple of dollars to save you the time having to setup the stage etc -- right now i've got it setup in keynote and i just export as a movie, load the movie in gif brewery 3 and then mess around with the settings to keep the animation .gif size kinda small because we don't want massive load times.
i'm buzzed about it -- i wish steemit.com would support .gifs as background profile images. i made this one subtle but i'm gonna expand on this for seasons, days of the week, month, calls to action, cinemagraphs, hmmm. i wonder if i could build an image making program to cycle the image but keep it the same name, that could be fire for when i'm live streaming and stuff, i must look into that! :)

RIGHT? i've yet to try on mobile. go to my profile and see if it works or not. i don't have a mobile to check! :)
Sadly this does not seem to be implemented in eSteem yet. At least not the Android version.
It looks really nice and hope it function well too on steemit.com soon because that's where majority of steemians operate from
well they will give condenser (the front end) a makeover soon. i doubt they will allow gifs. we don't want CRAZY profiles, but subtle i think makes all the difference! :)
That steamy effect on your animated gif looks great! And I'm glad to know the dimensions of that banner space - I've been struggling with that, because the mobile display is different. So, what's up with busy.org? I'm not familiar with the website - is that your website? Looks cool upon first glance.
not mine. it's the same steemit blockchain but with a different interface. basically think of it as someone has built it because they wanted a fresh look but it uses the steemit blockchain. when steemit.com goes down i use that.
