Hello. It can be rather difficult to get traction and going on steemit, especially starting out with no Steem Power and low RC, and limited ability to do much in the beginning. here are a few things that may help or may not.

  1. Use those ten votes a day. Find something or some people, who have content you like and give them a vote. You should try to support those that joined around the same time as you and are in an equally difficult position trying to gain traction. That being said, you want your vote to go on post that have at least a 3 cent payout already, that way you do not lose your vote to the dust level.

  2. Look at the tags you like to use, you are an artist, so look at how and what tags other people in the art community are using. There are people that actively curate various tags they like to see and content they like to read. Look at what kind of art it is see if there are sub-tags that get used, I do not know if there is a tattoo art tag, but likely there is.

  3. Contest, there are a lot of them, so avoid the ones that want to make life hard and difficult on you. If they demand a vote, a resteem and a lot of other hoops to be jumped through they are only running the contest for their benefit not the contestants. You can still enter with out voting and resteeming, you like will not be picked, you may risk a downvote, depends on how greedy the contest runner is, but the positive side is that your page will get some views possibly by other contestants.

  4. Look into some of the welcome to steemit groups. Groups like @newbieresteemday, @welcomewagon, and there are a few others. They can be a very good source of information and can help with questions and assist in some cases with obtaining delegations to improve your RC situation.

  5. Look at your content, then compare it to some of the other similar content that is available and getting traction. You want to compare apples and oranges when you are looking. A rep 65+ or someone with a lot of Steem Power can post pretty much anything and buy votes for it, you are going to need to look at people in the rep 40-50 range see what they are doing.

  6. That first tag is the only tag that can not be changed, so be very careful what you use, make sure it fits your content and the intent of the tag.

  7. If you have any question you can tag me, (that is using the persons name with the @ symbol, example to tag me just type @bashadow), I will get a notification of a mention in steemworld. Which brings up steemworld.org. Your page is https://steemworld.org/@tattoo777 if you did not know about steemworld that is simply in my opinion the best and most handy tool for steem blockchain.

There are people out here, after awhile we just bypass the new post stream. I used to look through it on a fairly regular basis, not so much any more, but still on occasion, like today.

Thanks so much for the info, I think a lot of that will be helpful.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Steemit can be a bit of a lonely place, yeah. You gotta engage others and they will come to visit you back.

I also find Steemit a bit of a polar opposite to twitter/instagram, in terms of audience. Steemit audience seems to like longer posts, so more words or more pictures or more contents seem to be regarded as 'stronger' posts at Steemit

Hopefully you'll get more eyeballs to your blog, @tattoo777! @bashadow's tips are amazing and I can attest that they are all true :)

Thanks bashadow, I upvoted some of post too
