Tess Holliday shuts down body shamers comparing her to a hippo

Merry Christmas to everyone, except for Tess Holliday‘s body shamers.
The plus size model took to Twitter Tuesday evening to send out a PSA to people trying to disparage her for her weight with a meme comparing her to a hippo. The mean-spirited image was screenshotted from an Instagram account known for posting viral content that has more than 14 million followers. Holliday, however, wanted to let those interacting with the post and sending it to her know that it wasn’t accomplishing what they wanted it to.
A lot of y’all have sent this to me so upset, so I’m sharing my thoughts on it for your peace of mind:
Stuff like this doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t make me mad… I literally feel nothing. I’m beautiful, successful, happy & grateful. How could I have time to be bothered? pic.twitter.com/1xrxseE8KR

“Stuff like this doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t make me mad…” Holliday wrote. “I literally feel nothing. I’m beautiful, successful, happy & grateful.”
The success that the 33-year-old is referring to includes being on the cover of Cosmopolitan U.K. back in August, which was met with mixed reactions and some similar shaming. But the model said, “How could I have time to be bothered?”
Others have echoed Holliday’s sentiment in the replies to her tweet, telling her that the people who created the meme have problems of their own.
I feel sorry for the person that created that. They needed likes the photo generated to make themselves feel loved, validated, and important…. I pray for their emptiness.

Whoever made this did so bc they tear themselves to pieces over something as minuscule as eating a serving of French Fries, or wearing a clothing size that's a double digit.
Hope they come to terms with their distorted body image issues, for their well-being, as well as others💗

People who do this sort of thing are missing something in their lives and only feel validated by “taking someone down”. You however are a Queen and an inspiration. I know who I’d rather be ❤️❤️❤️

Despite some responses from people telling Holliday to watch out for her health, most are telling her that her “confidence is so sexy.”
Queen. Your confidence is so sexy.
