Over Coffee #2: Why is it important to introduce Steemit to everyone you know…

Will Steemit ever be as big as other social media platforms I.e. Instagram, YouTube, Facebook? I think the answer is simple, it won’t be if people don’t know about it.
I have been working on upping my social media game the last few months. Slowly but surely I have gone from having 0 followers to 2000+ on Instagram. That may not seem like a lot for some people, but the thing is I am trying to gain followers in a “purist” way so to speak. That means not every other picture is a cute or sexy selfie, not every picture is going to receive over 200 likes, but that is fine with me. I am all about content. I post pictures of things that I really enjoy doing, things that really speak to me.
Here on Steemit I would like it to be the same way. I don’t want to be known as a “Steemit model” gathering the type of attention I wouldn’t want in the real world. I want people to follow me because they sincerely enjoy reading my content, and seeing what I have to say.
This is why it is important to tell as many people as you can about Steemit. Everyone is searching for followers, obviously, but why not start with people that actually know you and care about what you have to say? I know there millions of people out there who have never heard of Steemit. So why not be the person to introduce them and gain a few followers in the mean time?
