(Btw, do you know by any chance a way to receive notifications as in facebook or something similar? I mean, do you get notifications when someone is commenting your post(s)? Because I don't receive anything.)

Sadly at this time, you do not get notifications, Steemit is still in beta and hope they step their game up soon. You will have to go to the replies tab next to comment to see if any replies was sent to you.
