I think the biggest takeaway for a new Steemit user is managing expectations.
The payout is not linked to the quality of your post, the length or the time you invested to write it. Like I said it is not like a job where you get paid by the hour or by the quality of your work. This means that when you write a brilliant blog and spend hours on creating it, it can still be that you receive nothing or less than you expected.
Thanks @sumatranate. I wrote this after reading some posts from frustrated new steemians who could not understand why they weren't getting bigger payouts.
It is important that people understand the scope of steemit and how that impacts payout. We are seeing a lot of new faces in our community, but very few seems to understand the important elements of our community. Kinda sad!
