Indeed; contributing and reading interesting content should be the first priority. Gotta say I was 'inspired' by a bunch of accounts that seemed abandoned after several weeks of posting, and some complaints about low pay-outs.

Personally, I'm too busy in real-life currently to substantially contribute to Steemit, so a significant financial reward is out of the question for the time being anyway ;)
