With less than 100 days to go to the End of Year I am sad to say that my Minimum Target of 650,000 Accounts set a few months ago is looking unlikely to be hit.
#Steemit Accounts - Year End Target
Minimum Target of 650,000 Accounts
In May and June of this year as most of you may be aware we witnessed an explosive growth of new users registering on #Steemit.
Based on this explosive growth continuing, I set a Minimum Target of +650,000 Accounts by the end of the year.
With less than 100 days to go now to the End of Year I am sad to say that this Minimum Target of 650,000 Accounts is looking unlikely to be hit.
As we come to the end of September, we have averaged 1,577 registered new accounts per day in the month.
With 96 days to go to the end of the year, if this average was maintained we would hit no fewer than a total of 538,061.
On other words, should we still wish to hit the Minimum Target of 650,000 we would need to achieve no fewer than an average of 2,743 accounts per day, a figure that has never been achieved on any one day in September.
I for one am gutted that this Target is unlikely to be met and though we are still growing my guess is that we will have to wait until sometime in February 2018 to see this magical number.
Thanks for reading.
Stephen
Who knows... there might be 8-10k new accounts each day around Christmas.
If BTC explodes now, Steem will rise to 2$ again which might also draw in a lot new users.
Your target is not very likely anymore, but still possible.
Slow and steady as they say
Good job nonetheless, thank you for helping Steemit grow!
With Halloween and Christmas season round the corner we could encourage relevant posts which will start featuring in the search results during the last 3 months of the year. So maybe offer an incentive for publishing such posts?
Just a thought, because I know that a large content-packed site like Steemit can dominate the search results by using a few good SEO techniques.
It's not the end of the world but you have been working so hard to achieve that target that you're probably a bit disappointed. Perhaps during Steemfest we come up with a super guerrilla marketing idea to put in place from now on, in addition to the initiatives already running.
Great to see the community growing nonetheless. I still feel personally that steemit isn't ready yet for the average user. I have encouraged my friends to join, who are already interested in the blockchain economy, none have yet joined. I will keep pushing them! For my not so technologically oriented buddies I am holding back for the platform to further develop.
What I am actively doing is promoting Dtube on youtube, so that my favourite youtubers would join steemit and start posting their videos on Dtube as well.
Perhaps word is getting out there is an issue of censorship in this platform. Speaking of which, why did you flag Roger Ver?
I have no idea what you are talking about? When did I flag Roger. Stephen
to achieve success is difficult, not in line with expectations, but rest assured it will all be realized with confidence, enthusiasm and work
hi Stephen,
Do we have any stat for avg active users, i feel that would be more appropriate
This is really not bad you never know what is going to happen, hope you make the target.
hopefully to arrive as targeted
