I have been blogging to Steemit for 6 months now and can say without any doubt that it has been the best 6 months I have experienced on any Social Media Platform.

Great motivation for a newbie like me that probably has less than 200 total voters so far.
Thank you. I appreciate it. Any newbie joining, it takes a while to build up a solid foundation of followers and I recall the first 3-4 months were pretty slow. After that it simply exploded and I am hitting upto 3,000 votes a week. The best advice I can give any newbie is forget about how much you make per post, it's totally irrelevant. If you think you are going to make any large sums forget it. Concentrate on the number of votes/voters that you are attracting. For me these 6 months have been hard work but the rewards do come. You just have to have patience. For me I have given myself 5-7 years and so far I am only 6 months in. Stephen
It's all about the followers. You offer me 1000 SP or 100 followers, I'm going to take the followers.
Now check how much value all of those voters have distributed to your posts through the votes.
The amount of votes doesn't matter much when you have users running around voting 1% of their low steempower with a low voting power % combined. Check out the user @jsantana for instance, he is voting with 1% on some posts while being at 5% voting power and having ~4k SP. That means he is practically voting with 1% of 200 SP on posts.
Also not really a good way to be woken up by being pinged from this post cause it had my username mention in it. Especially not when you had an early wake-up and leave your phone on in case something important is going down.

It is at 5% right now which means you are only voting for 5% of your steempower and earning curation rewards the same.
