I absolutely agree with you, the idea of commenting to become noticable and to show people that you respect them and like you mentioned to comment appropriately after one have read hte post, sometimes it is difficult to understand from the first time, then better to read it again rather to write something if you are not sure if it is right.

But I believe it is easy to tell for people like us with reputation over 50 and some Steem power, we are taking seriously but the new comers have it had, when people see your reputation bellow 40 and just peanuts in Wallet those ones will be ignored, I know it because there are few good fellows my landsmen who I try to support, the spend much effords to bring their original content and good posts but been not commented or upvoted at all.

So new comers and "plankton" it is a hard time but just keep doing a good hard job and one day you reach what you want. Nothing is easy even in Steemit.
