RE: One of my Posts Made it to "Trending," Wow! And Why That's Pretty Random
That is great, kinda like my Silverbird drawing post last week. I posted it over on Discord and Steemit.chat and one of the "art-trails" picked it up and set the process in motion, the vote train got it to trending in art and drawing, then more people saw it and followed in giving it real views and votes to go with it. It was at $6 and change before, then shot up to $192 before decaying to $108 at payout tonight. But that's fine with me :-) I'll take it. I drop each of my new posts over there now, once in the morning, once at night. Like playing the lottery.
Yeah @steempowerpics, I remember the Silverbird post! And I remember being impressed as hell that something in "art" would go so high, since it's almost always crypto-related stuff that takes off like that.
Funny thing is, I have never "marketed" a single post... except "externally" (Facebook, twitter, Google+, etc) to true top recruit new people to Steemit. I should probably "take a hint" from your experience and use some of the Steemit tools....
Yeah , I was shocked too. I was like really, the bird?! Out of everything I have posted... the bird?! :-D
I haven't had another bite with the trails, but I do get more upvotes per post and a steady trend of new followers now that I am posting over there than I was before. Good thing is, since you put them in appropriate categories, the people who find you actually comment and seem interested in what you posted.
