Is Steemit A Ponzi scheme?

Lately I've noticed that Poloniex doesn't allow deposits in either Steem or Steem dollars. The website says its a maintenance issue and that Steemit has to fix the issues. This announcement has been up all week. There is a possibility it's been up longer than that, I just recently looked into it. What's strange about this is that Poloniex is ranked has the most popular market for Steem transactions on coinmarketcap.com. The website ranks by volume. This doesn't make sense, the market doesn't accept new deposits yet it has the most market volume. Something suspicious is going on. Let's be honest theirs money to be made for both Steemit and Poloniex if transactions are going through. So why has this problem not been solved? The answer might be that Steemit couldn't keep up with the demand. Steemit is a reward posting site like Reddit but unlike Reddit you get paid in cryptocurrency for popular posts....
