Watch out! Fraud in Steemit

in #steemit10 years ago

Hi, there!
I've recently noticed some contests to appear on Steemit. The users promise some good presents for upvotes. Here is one of such shady and suspicious posts:

I've spoken to the author of this post and he wrote to me that his intentions were to earn some money to cover the cost of the prize. Possible? Well, yeah. Still, you never know who wants to pay up for the upvotes and who is a fraudster.
As for me, I do not support the idea of holding contests though the idea can exist. I guess that voting for prizes is beyond Steemit's pillars and ground ideas. And so here comes a dilemma.
The question is how we, steemers, can  avoid being deceived?

Please, comment on and share your thoughts! I think that the matter is urgent as Steemit is becoming more and more popular and I wish all the best to the platform.

I suggest taking the time to read the post. If your morals are up to high standards then you will know what to do. But the problem is that most that join Steemit do it to be entertained.

SteemIt ground ideas are still to be decided by us. Nothing is resolved yet.
