✳️ Free Money? - There Is No Free Money On Steemit! Find Out Why!
Some people seem to be of the opinion that Steemit provides everyone with free money. But there is no such thing as free money as it got to have its source somewhere or otherwise the whole system will break down like in a hyperinflation.
Sure the Upvotes on Steemit might seem to provide you with free money but it actually just provides you with the Steem and SBD Tokens. The value of those will be determined on the cryptocurrency market through supply and demand just like in any other market out there.
That being said you may recognize that the coins are only worth whatever people are willing to pay for them. Over time the supply of Steem will hopefully decrease significantly in correlation to the number of users, which will lead to higher prices whenever people want to increase their Power on the Platform as the supply side is limited.
Now some might still be of the opinion that they get free money on Steemit as they don´t put any of their own into it. But nonetheless everyone who´s earning something on the platform puts in the most valuable resource he or she got - time!
So we basically exchange our time for Steem & SBD tokens while the amount we receive depends on the Voice/Votes of those people who actually invested in the Platform by putting huge amounts of Steem Power on their accounts. The money anyone cashes out in the end depends on exactly those people once again, those who are investing into the platform.
It´s hard to accept for some and it´s especially hard for new users but you simply won´t find any free money on Steemit. You have to put real effort into building a good reputation and interact with the community in order to attract the attention from other users.
We should all stop to expect rewards, stop to complain about other people’s success and finally see Steemit as what it really is, a social network that eventually rewards you for your interaction and the content you provide.
What´s your Opinion on it?
I completely agree, well said buddy.
Thanks a lot Percy :)
@steembusiness I think you just said it all. The one thing I will tell anyone that comes onto STEEMIT. Put yourself out there, make yourself known. If you create others will reward you with their time and energy. Keep a Positive Attitude and GREAT things will happen here.
It's a social network and of course there will always be some business involved but right now it seems to be going the wrong way loosing the social aspect.
I totally agree with you. There are a lot of free loaders here, but the value comes from the investors. More than 2/3 of my SP is from the investment I did. This is why I also report spammers. The value of the platform comes from the value of the users and of the amount of the investors.
Spam should be killed and all voting bots should therefore maybe share the same blacklist. Just like MB is already cooperating with cheetah and steemcleaners.
I think @boomerang implemented the blacklist first ;)
I don´t want to start a fight who´s been first but it´s definitely great to know that @boomerang is as well active on fighting spam :)
This was not the point of my comment :)
Here is the announcement of @boomerang: https://steemit.com/steemit/@boomerang/boomerang-update-10th-of-october-2017
Also @buildawhale is working on that.
I know ;) & Thanks for adding the link in here :)

Very well composed article, and surely yes everyone wants to earn, everyone wants to gain followers.. In the process, the quality of the content on Steemit will improve and in the long run the ones with good content and unique content will be the ones earning the most on Steemit
Unfortunately we are facing a lot of spam and due to the vote bots it's just getting more and more complicated to fight those low quality Posts...
You are absolutely right, and in the last month (that's since I am here) I feel like I've put a lot of effort in my Steem account, in time, but not expecting high returns, I am just looking to build reputation and bounds with people, and eventually gain some popularity. And again you have a very good point when you say that this inflationary system will have to be corrected in order for the price of Steem to keep up, and I am also sure that there will be a solution to this in the near future, we will see. Nice article by the way, you have expressed many things I was thinking about too, I am sure there are many people here thinking the same :D
There are many discussions and disputes going on right now and I'm curious about the outcome in the end :)
The points you've got here is well thought through. Although it is no rocket science that giving out free money is not feasible, I am grateful for the investors that pour money into this platform and us as users earn a bit of heaven by being a part of this new revolution.
This reminds me of a youtube replica I believe was named Megavideo that paid users to create & watch videos on the platforms creating the utopia that it's made by users for users. At the end if I remember correctly that the project failed but Steem will be different because I do generally believe that this is a superior platform versus the social media platforms out there right now.
We won't know what the future will bring but as long as people keep interacting and minnows keep their accounts growing it'll maybe succeed. Of course only whenever issues are overcome as a Community.
I agree with you @steembusiness steem and is not free but you buy it at very very high price, your time. No can buy time, its priceless by the way. Even the riches man cant afford to buy additional time for his life.
That's right & there won't be many who can make a living on this platform. So we all should finally see it as a network and put the monetary aspect behind.
Totally agree. The problem is that 90% of the people are here for the money, and sometimes it's making steemit a strange place to be at. I still believe that it should all go about quality content. If you keep that in mind, you will be rewarded some day.
I don't even think that it just has to be quality in form of information. There might as well be just some good memes or quotes among the Posts. We just all have to make sure that only the right stuff gets rewarded. Opinions aren't general so we shouldn't define a single guideline for quality.
Thanks for the response. Just for the record. For me, a meme or quote can be an equivalent to quality :)
There are definitely some good ones out there, which deserve to be rewarded but of course not in the same way than real Posts.
Upvoted & RESTEEMED!
thank you :)
