Big News for BITCOIN and Las Vegas Nevada! Nevada is now the first US State to Ban Blockchain Taxes

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians!

I wanted to share some news I found about Nevada being the first state to ban blockchain taxes. The new law that was in the legislative process back in March was just approved by Governor Brian Sandoval this week.

Vegas is already making a strong stance as the first US State to ban the blockchain taxes. It should be interesting to see how the federal government and IRS responds to this as it seems to be out of their control. I'll be very curious how other states and other countries will respond as Bitcoin and other digital currencies become more widely accepted.

I recently moved from Seattle to Las Vegas because the cost of living is so much better here. After living in Vegas for just over a year I've noticed more Bitcoin ATM's popping up in different areas of Vegas more frequently.

Its becoming obvious that Vegas is embracing Bitcoin with open arms and has long term strategies to implement the use of Bitcoin throughout Vegas on the horizon.

Combine this news with the new WAGERR ICO and it looks like things are definitely brewing with gambling and betting with bitcoin.

If anyone else has any news on this or wants to share their opinion please leave a comment. Do you think we will see Bitcoins being used in Casinos in the not so distant future? Or maybe Casinos will decide its much cheaper and cost effective to simply dump the chips and create their own digital chips/coins. Time will tell. My guess is we will likely see a gradual shift into Bitcoin.

I will share more news and updates about this as I learn more but at this point I'm sure many of us can use our imagination of how Bitcoin will be used in the biggest gambling state in the Country. Take care everyone!

I live in LAS VEGAS.... Good news for me :)

Hey stackin! I like the name. Definitely great news.

HA! :D Get some popcorn ready. Should be interesting to see what happens. ;)

For sure! Let me know if you need some good recommendations on areas to live.

This is actually awesome! There is only 2 bitcoin atm's near me. Thanks for sharing.

Hi artedellavita. The strip has a bunch of bitcoin atms but I try to avoid the tourist areas now since I'm an official local lol.. Even the Summerlin area where I live is popping up with new ones.

Lucky! I'm in So Cal you'd think there would be more! They are all spaced pretty far from each other.

AND the governor of New Hampshire just signed a bill into law that "exempts digital currency traders from the state's money transmission regulations." This is so exciting!

Taxation is theft.

We have sanctuary cities for immigration, and sanctuary states for pot.

Where is my legal sanctuary from the IRS?

Death and Taxes? How about Life and liberty.

Don't Tread on My Bitcoins Bro! :)

Good to know as a Vegas Resident myself. I have seen some of the ATM's but they seem to have huge fees. I think there are better ways to get cash than pay those fees.

Upvoted!

Hi nspart. Thanks for the upvote! I definitely agree about the fees. I think in time the fees will be a lot less. Seems to be an opportunistic situation right now for whoever owns those atms to charge high percentages. I've honestly never used one cause its cheaper just converting usd directly from coinbase or other sites.

Why am I not moving to Vegas yet?
