8 Types of STEEMIT Authors Who Suck: Here Are Those Who Publish

STEEMIT can really be a huge pile of Steaming publications... you know it to be true.

The reward pool attracts all kinds of content mercenaries, wrong doers, low effort users and wanna be make money online gurus.

My previous post on the 7 Types of STEEMIT Users met some success, so now I'm shifting my aim to STEEMIT authors, the good, the bad, the ugly.

Let's start by the bad and ugly of the portal. While there are certainly more than these 7 types, I'm sure these you already know and sit right on the top of your mind.

The Affiliate Marketer: Promoting Referral Links

He's the guy who heard from another guy that there was a platform out there that was decentralized, so his account wasn't in danger for spamming every faucet ref link and every HYIP (High Yield Investment Program) link from the top of this Earth.

He dreams of getting upvotes (money) on his spamming posts, and on top of that fresh referral for his latest ponzi scheme.

The game starts well, he gets one or two newbies to enlist in his faucets, but soon enough the leads dry out... it just so happens his reputation fell down the drain.

Oh well, time to get another account.

The Posing Photographer: Steepshot's Trash

I don't mean "Posing" as in posing for a picture, or even "Posing" as in Posing to be a good photographer but actually being a newbie.

Let me get this one straight - I love newbies of every kind, they are the new blood that is eager to learn. What I mean by "Posing" here is pretending the pics are his.

You can see that Steepshot and Steemit are full of pictures that are simply reposted from Pixabay or even Google Images itself.

They want to get a piece of the reward pool, but they don't want the menial hassle of creating valuable content, so they go for the lowest effort media - stolen images.

Unfortunately, through my experience, these accounts do really well!

The Art Stealer: Let's Rob a Gallery

The "artists" who joined Steemit, had a little trip around the hot and trending feed and spotted what he thought to be a golden opportunity.

Here are some Authors and Artists posting their works and earning a killing (he thought), so off he goes to Google Image or Royalty Free websites to rob some art pieces.

If that doesn't work, he can always look for one of the many "Impressionist Painting" generators and hit the roll button until he finds one that meets his highest of standards.

After this is done, he simply posts and collects votes.

This type of account can be flagged, but more often than not it reaches decent numbers and stays at mid-tier size.

The Facebook Status Update Publisher:

This is a highly trained mainstream social media user. She / He makes a killing on Facebook Likes, and figures out STEEMIT must be more of the same.

Knowing she will have the greatest of successes, she signs up and starts posting every hour. A status update, an odd selfie, a dog eating her icecream, the weather, a joke... and the pattern is repeated for the week she manages to use the platform.

After one week, she wonders why the account hasn't picked up, and leaves never to return again.

Or does she?

After Steemit rises and becomes mainstream, she desperatly tries to return to her old account, only to feel pissed she can't recover the password.

The Brawler: Flag Wars Have Been Quiet... let's change that!

This author type has strong opinions, and he isn't afraid to let anyone else know about them.

He follows a bunch of authors he holds in the highest regard... he would spend all of his Voting Power fighting a Holy Flag War on their behalf.

This author rarely posts, but when he does so... it's the keyboard that suffers.

He mashes the keys franctically and spews gastric acid on the screen as he rages at the user that did the dirty deed of spouting his rage.

After hitting post, he screams "Glory to Lord Flagger" and hacks away at that small red flag.

The Low Effort Poet: Here's an Haiku

This is the type of user that is born when the Art stealer or Posing Photographer feels bad about stealing.

He doesn't want to steal, but he can't be placed in a position where he will actually have to pour value into the network.

He has a brilliant idea, he once heard of Haiku, Haiki or something which was only 4 lines long and you could practically say anything and it would sound deep.

That's exactly what he was looking for. He opens up his post and types:

 Life is like stardust

 Glowing in a pon

 Kois swim around it

 Bathtub's Showerhead

It's a hit! Connoisseurs on the Art section pay it no homage, but soon enough there comes the odd newbie or comment spammer who starts to find meaning in the words... the reputation of the Low Effort Poet rises!

He can be successful one day, and who knows after practice become a real poet.

The News' Rippers: What a Nice Blog Post... I'll take it!

Finally, you got the flexible news ripper.

He visited the Trending page and saw that many of the high voted pages are either about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

He has a brilliant idea probably no one else had before - to get a bot to rip news feeds and blog posts from external sites.

That will get him swimming in cash right?

Well, his account reputation doesn't confirm that, and he is soon having to create another account as well.

The Price Screamer:

We all know this one, this is the Steemit Author who simply posts Cryptocurrency prices at regular intervals...

What's worse?

People actually upvote him.

So, these are some of the most toxic authors in Steemit. I'm sure you know a bunch of them already.

Do you think I missed a crucial one? If so, dropped it on the comment box.

And no, you can't say "You Max!"... that is ugly and not nice at all.

Cheers

Such complexity, Such beauty!

10/10

LMAO I am dyin over here! Good one.

Blast from the Past...
I don't even remember that, but an older friend of mine uses it in his writing. He was one of the first bloggers to interview Cliven Bundy, maybe the very first. He writes for Silver Doctors and TND, The News Doctors. Prepper Jack is his screen name :D

Thanks for the 411, will have to check him out then.

lmfao! This made my morning xD you are one observant alchemical vessel; thanks for sharing this with us :)

I was never called an alchemical vessel up til now. Thanks hehe.
Cheers!

Okay...Okay... I will give it to ya. AMEN!

Hehehe, I thought so :p
Cheers mate!

Too many people emotional over the crypto roller coasters. These are all quite funny. I aspire to make one of each of these just to collect them. And damnit you are going to like them! (Not completely serious, it may serve as a good starting point though).

Of these, the one I find fascinating is the social media one. Because... isn't that kind of what will be captured in Steemit's "mainstream" mode? By the way, this isn't entirely relevant, but I think you might like this older post of mine: https://steemit.com/steem/@eonwarped/the-day-steemit-went-full-wingdings Could be an entirely new category.

Ohhhh! And you'll get a kick out of this that someone had brought my attention to: https://steemit.com/sbd/@checkthisout/sbd-correction
Bet you didn't see that one coming ;) Although come to think of it, this is the natural ultimate abuse.

Holy! Never had seen that post before @eonwarped
Thank for showing me this

"Place Holder" :)

Cheers Mate!

I recognize some of these people for sure. Hopefully, I don't slip into the low effort poet, as I most definitely write a minimum of 16 lines haha.

16 Lines is huge!

Aka all of them are fucking lazy losers who look for the easiest and most comfortable way to make money.

They have 0 followers that care about their content, their followers just come for the money and never again.

It's sad mate!

great post, I loved the low effort poet one.

It's funny because it's true :)

Erh, I suppose I need to put a little more effort into my poems then..
Insightful!

Heheh, who knows... :)

I don't like people who get pictures and act as if it's their own.

Yeah, so bad.
