Okay Steemians: 140 Up-Votes, 8 Views…REALLY?

Okay, 140 upvotes, only 8 views. This is clearly a problem, and I’m praying to not let it get under my craw. I know my mantra, MYOB (Mind Your Own Business) would serve me well in this matter.

But, there’s something about doing something purely for ‘game’ which becomes disrespectful to the author, and, taints the purity of the platform.

Okay, purity may not be the best word; but, it is obvious that people are waiting in the wings for the 30-minute mark, hitting the up vote, not having viewed the content. They don’t even bother to leave a generic ‘good job’. They simply watch the clock for the up vote, hoping the post will yield a big haul.

Of course, that’s all in the realm of fair-play, so I will leave it at that. However, I shall make note, and hope that the rules will be amended to have an up-vote only register as a potential curator’s reward if a reply is left as well.

I know things change when people voice their concerns. Some people, especially photographers, are vexed by this, since they know their work isn’t really getting viewed.

Oh well, that’s it. Gaming is what weakens anything good. Who knew this would give credence to the saying, ‘Don’t hate the player, hate the game’. Okay, I love the Steemit platform; but, I don’t particularly like the way some people play.
