How about forget Trending and look at your own feed as well as category pages that interest you?
Front page Trending is a sort of least common denominator and absolutely isn't for everyone.
Thanks @smooth. I learned that last night from another commenter in this thread. I didn't know Steem had the feed feature. Thanks for the tip and the vote.
Also, unlike some other sites you can look at other people's feeds. So if you know of someone who shares your interests you can take a look at their feed to find new authors or posts to read or follow yourself. Hope this helps. Thanks for being here writing @barrycooper!
