Actually locationbased statistics on steemit would only work if people agree to do all posts from a specific ip OR set their location for real on a worldmap, something not everybody will be willing to do. It's a lot of crypto-capo's these days who dont really know what it actually is, and who werent there when it was born, but your average ancient cypherpunk certainly won't be willing to pass on location with every single post, lol
... it has come a long way, but it's actually nowhere yet, this is all just babysteps
