After not reaching a consensus on the situation in Venezuela during the meeting of OAS chancellors in Cancun, Mexico, Human Rights Watch's director Jose Miguel Vivanco said to NTN24 that this result proves that the OAS countries that are members of Caricom are more interested in their economic relationship with Venezuela than in respect for Human Rights.
"This is very frustrating. The OAS proves. once again, that it has in the practice have been Kidnapped by a small group of countries that constitute the Caricom that care more about their commercial relations with the government of Maduro than the respect for democratic principles, Human Rights and public freedom", he said.
