It would be nice. I think new followers would appreciate being greeted, or some availability for contact to be made in that new connection other than a reply on a post.

One thing I will say is the connection that facebook makes now in the messenger app, automatically connectkng you to a new friend if they have the messenger, I think thats valuavle because it opens that line of communication from the start.
