Should Contests On Steemit Only Pay Out In Steem?

For a while I have been thinking of running a contest on steemit. The idea I have for the game hasen't been done yet and I think it could be more fun then any other contest/game I have seen on the site. I have a nice chunk of random alt coins and I was wondering if it is considered ok to give out say dash, litecoin, doge and what not as a prize instead of steem or sbd?

I know its ok, I'm more asking if it would be more accepted by the steemit community to give out sbd insted of another alt coin.

Other thing I have been wondering, what is to stop a whale from seeing my awesome contest and then flagging me to nothing while the same whale starts making the same contest that they self upvote and make alot of money for cause they have 3k upvoters hoping and praying for a single whale vote?

I'm guessing that most the whale games that make decent money are not the accounts that came up with the idea but just a copier that because of whale status made the original maker of the game idea to become a joke contest. Like if a whale is offering 500 sbd for a copy of my contest when I am the originator and can only offer up 1 sbd as prize. Why would you play the 1sbd prize when you could play the 500sbd prize?

Idk just thinking out loud and hoping for some input before I start my awesome contest that you are all going to love.
