Life in the Canadian Rockies

in #steemit8 years ago

I grew up as a mountain child, and no matter how many beaches there are in the world, the Albertan landscape is hard to top.

I did a solo road trip up to Jasper National Park in the Fall, backpacking my own backyard. The various, remote hostels were all uniquely different logs cabins with spectacular views, and some wild foreign guests.

As soon as you arrive in the park, you're greeted by the bucking wildlife.

Athabasca Falls, just across from one of the hostels:

The Weeping Wall, where the rock face is covered in gorgeous waterfalls:

And not to be missed, the Columbia Ice Fields (which are quickly declining due to climate change).

If anyone ever needs tips or wants to give any back for hiking in Alberta, let's connect!

These are stunning! What kinda kit did you use?

Thank you so much! Fujifilm x100s

Beautiful place.

Truly. Have you been?

This place is magical. These mountains are so powerful and always will make you feel small and respect the planet.
