I do agree but honestly most of the spammers are some poor blokes gaining fractions of cents from their comments, and they havent understood the system because they would at least get some curation rewards if they would upvote. But Id rather call out the big whales that upvote themselves and their friends only; pulling out thousands of Dollars out of the system instead of spreading and actually rewarding good content. So the rest of us has to divide the scraps amongst us. Not really a fair system rather a mirror to how the society is structured in the real world.
You are right, many don't fully understand the platform. However, they could make an effort to learn. It just seems a no-brainer to upvote the post though. Especially if you go to the trouble of commenting.
Some of these big whales are very greedy. I see many other whales downvoting them which does help. We will see how things go over time. There are many things that happen on Steemit that aren't ideal, but at least it is giving creators an income. The trash will disappear in time as Steemit evolves.
