RE: "Central Premise & Proposals" - A Series About Fixing Steemit - Part 4

Not even close, only about 75 even make any profit over the seed node, witness node and rpc node hosting we carry. At position 50 you might make a couple hundred steem a month at BEST.

the top 20, make more, but ALL of them delegate, run 2-3K in hosting a month or twice that with backups, and run projects, pay teams, and write the code you live on - a $200usd an hour professional gig which is neither mandatory for witnesses or compensated.

Are YOU gonna write the blockchain code for free?

No, I am not going to do anything. I am just going to wait for Dan to get his Steem V2 up and going. :)

I was leaning that way too, six months ago, not so much "because of this place" but because as a 35 year tech pro who was programming before the internet existed, then went on to make a career of web applications like these, and ultimately retiring then starting yet another company which is now doing great, I learned that every iteration improves on the last, so its natural to believe Dan will improve the next one he does every time.

Except, then I looked into what he was doing, and what he had wanted to do here in the past, that the collective at the time in 2016 bashed down as stupid (and it was) and that began to worry me, then they rolled out and crashed. and the dubious chinese government connected OHNO I mean Ono is sketchy as fuck too. So i am skipping EOS for at least a couple years, and betting on the car thats already circling the track, and not the one they cant get running.

"Witnesses are overpaid."

Spoken truly like someone who has no clue the amount of money, time, and effort it takes to keep a witness operating or provide RPC and seed node support to the blockchain.
