HUMAN CAPITAL IN STEEMIT?: How MUCH does your FEED worth // Community Service

in #steemit5 years ago

Your feed is part of your personal capital…

It is not only about the value you’ve acummulated all along your permanence on Steemit exploring the platform, but it is also your potential source of “profit” as curator.

Tell me who you follow and…

As newbies, almost no one in the platform knows where to start, but one of the first decisions we are pushed to make is determined by that imperative message of our friend, button FOLLOW. Only imagine… Most of us come from Social Networks as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter where we follow any barely interesting profile, so when we arrive here we just don’t understand the relevance in KNOWING WHO TO FOLLOW.

In fact, I know by experience that you don’t believe it is so important until the day when you try to check your Feed and you figure “you won’t find anything there”. Then you’ve made the discovery: follow only “those people” might be determining. And that is how you eventually realize that the best strategy to evolve in Steem Blockchain must be called “community”.

Not everyone know digital marketing when we enter Steemit, but one clear advantage of this environment, following the previous affirmation, is the fact of being a prototype of Social Network, because while we build naturally our social strategies and interact, we learn that to follow the right people also contributes with the effectiveness of all of what Steemit is, by effecting our own integration.

Follow The Leader

Fast we learn to identify the big ones here, and it is always a great idea to follow them. They are who run initiatives and they represent the greater support we could obtain. They are user with most Voting Power, as seals or Witnesses, who usually are the center of big projects. Most of them dedicates to curation, selection original content mostly for this action: literature, music, science,… They are usually focusses in certain type of content and users or interests, as communities of people united on their origins or nationality, newbies,...

The thing is that you must follow people who coincide with our line of interest or production; user who might turn interested in us and our content. And what else? We must be good! It is imperative to be creators of good quality and own material, permanently! Having a strategy and attaching to a rhythm is the key to succeed as creators and bloggers.

Lead or not to lead

That is the question! Isn’t it? Be honest and ask yourself the reasons why you follow the others, and also what defines you as a Steemian so you have a more open view of what is all it about. Do you follow people or your actually consuming their content? Because you will also be a follower of their re-steems! It has to make sense.

A FOLLOW is a link, and generated:

  1. When we are interested in someone’s content we want to consume, which must be worthy to us because what appears in our feed is what we are going to curate. Those creators can be similar to us, successful and people who we want to learn from, or they lead communities and initiatives. Activism is motivating always!

  2. When we have interest in someone’s closeness who is a potential curator or who is an awesome creator and has the respect of other curators. They might be witnesses, seals, or their favorite creators. They might also be people we could interact or even associate with in the future. The importance of interaction is building engagement: get interested in more and better content and also attract them, show worthy.

Having already stablished our criteria (we are free to follow our interests to lead us to growth) it is healthy to take control and “discriminate”. What do we want to see in our Feed? So...

What do you want to be YOUR FEED?

  • Many Curation Reports?

Could be overwhelming

  • Large variety of memes and similar?

I like jokes, but not if all nice and nutricious content is lost in between

  • Foreign or strage language?

Korean?, French?, Japanese?, Chinese!, Russian!, German!

Think about it!

There must be a balance between
profit and ethic, and this way is:
Breath and smile while you optimize your offer
and choose what is best for you to consume

Don’t follow by impulse!

Claro. De eso se trata. Saludos, @Betzaelcorvo.
