New icon for branding/identity

Hello followers,

What do you think of the above icon I am branding my Blog with... ??
The problem is if I start the blog off with the above all the time, then the thumbnails will also be this image, which is not what I want.. anyone know a way to go around this?

    Maybe dont start with the branding? end with it.
