Steem Bandwidth Remaining Bar Explained 26/9/2017
Hello Steemian so maybe your like me and at first when Steemit had its updated I got a little confused on what exactly was the meaning of the Bandwidth Rate Limiting bar and should it be something we should be worried about?
While I did have an idea of its meaning I still wasn't fully sure if it was exactly as I thought.
So I will share on here incase old and new steemians are interested in its meaning.

So the Bandwidth Rate Limiting bar is in place to keep things reasonable so it limits the system's use.
Each one of us Steemians are given a limited bandwidth bar, why?
Well you must understand that whenever a users performs a blockchain action such as token transfers, posting content, voting etc it is infact using up a portion of their bandwidth.
Yikes!? So what happens if a Steemian user ever exceeds their user bandwidth allowance!???

No problem and do not panic over this... you must simply wait to perform any additional actions just like as if it was your voting power simply wait until your bandwidth bar limit recharges itself.
Also the bandwidth limits does adjust itself based on the network's usage.
So for example Steemian users will have a higher bandwidth allowance when the network usage is low.
For those who do come across these bandwidth limits here is something that is key and very important the amount of bandwidth that an account is allowed is directly proportional to the amount of Steem Power a user has in their wallet.
So in other words the secret for users to increase their bandwidth allowance or stay out of the limits is by getting additional Steem Power and keeping it.
And lastly one more bit of info on this because the witnesses are paid entirely through the generation of new tokens there is actually no need to charge its steemit users a fee.
So while there is a reason for doing this which would be to charge a fee as a deterrent to prevent users from completing an unreasonable amount of transactions.
I see but why do this?

They do this as it can impact the overall performance of the blockchain and I find it to be very reasonable.
But honestly I wouldn't really worry about this unless your ALWAYS uploading a ton of pictures I have done a few posts with alot of pictures and they barely caused a problem so I dont think its anything most of us Steemit users will even need to worry about, then again I do already have some power saved on my wallet as I already mention above more power means a larger bandwidth allowance but I still believe even for those new its nothing major to worry about.
Atleast now you know exactly what is the Steem bandwidth rate limit and what its all about.

Now I know what Bandwidth is and this explained it to me very well. Thank You @simonjay
No problem @stokjockey I think it needed explaining glad you understood it and thanks for the supprt.
very convincing explanation on bandwidth limitation.
I think bandwidth limitation is a very suitable way of coping with blockchain network's technical performance limitation and also some malicious abusers' probable brute use of steem blockchain.
Thank you for good posting.
I am sorry that I cannot vote your post since it is over 7 days old.
@simonjay Thank you for your work, I invite you to evaluate my work.
Hi @defreca I will take a look dont forget to upvote
Thank you very much for this explanation! I'm more relaxed now
