Why would an app need a hard fork? Having seen what happens when we have a hard fork, I'd like as few as possible. Wont SMT's be a solution? If Steemit Inc. doesn't provide that, I'm sure there will be alternatives. Steemit Inc. doesn't control Steem, as the witnesses can change that if they want to. There's so many dapps on Steem already, I don't think there's a big problem making them.
No it's an app that discusses problems and puts forward solutions that could fix problems. Hardforks doesn't mean chaos it was just the manner in how the last one was switched.

Yeah but it's not necessarily easy for people to understand the changes. Why not a voting system to see what is popular.
