(WOW!) The Hidden Law on Steemit - This User Is Proof...

in #steemit7 years ago

Hi Steemians,

I'm a blogger and developer on this platform and known for making SteemTracked - User Analytics Tool. What caught my attention is that one day I kept seeing posts from one user and he mainly made posts that were in the memes/funny categories.

Later on after making my SteemTracked tool, I played around with it and analyzed the statistics of top Steemit users and some of other Steemians. The results were pretty consistent and one user's stats got my attention more than others.

This user's stats prove that the Law of Averages play a huge part in Steemit and below I'll tell you why and who he is.

Law of Averages

The law of averages is the idea that something is sure to happen at some time, because of the number of times it generally happens or is expected to happen.

Collins Dictionary - Law of Averages

Examples:

  • The more basketball shots you take, the more likely you are to get shots in
  • More people viewing your website will increase the amount of sales
  • Posts being seen by more people means more upvotes

The User

The user I am talking about is @jwolf. He happens to be the most proactive user I've seen on Steemit with incredible stats. He does these 3 things stated below correctly which is ultimately using the Law of Averages and maximizing results:

  • Puts Effort
  • Networking
  • High Posting Volume

Before I dive into the 3 things he does correctly, let's take a look at his stats below using our SteemTracked tool.

Overview of His Progress In June

70 posts in 30 days gives you the average of 2.3 posts a day with a daily earning of $1.70.

Overview of His Progress This Month

In 21 days, he accomplished 166 posts which average to 7.9 posts a day with an average earning of $4.12 a post. The biggest thing to take away from this is the most simple thing, the amount of posts.

Consistency = Momentum = More Earnings

If you look at the total earnings from both months, you can see there is a correlation between posts and earnings with upvotes and comments also influencing.

Networking

The user has 10.62K comments which means he gained about 10% of followers (1.71K) for the comments he posted. Trying to achieve that amount of comments may be discouraging until you look at it from a daily perspective. 50-100 comments a day = 1500/3000 comments a month and that could result in around 150-300+ followers.

High Post Volume

Depending on your approach (I'll explain in last section) , a high post volume may be required to get the results you demand. If you want more upvotes, make more posts.

Effort

People tend to think that just copying an article or uploading video that isn't theirs is enough to make a cent on Steemit and that will never be the case. If you post something you would upvote (not literally), others would to.

Talent vs Hard Work

Most of us have heard this before and some say one over the over and I say...

Hard work in talent or talent in hard work.

Which leads to this...

Have a Plan

You can use either talent or hard work or both to maximize the Steemit platform and get good earnings. The top Steemit users either signed up when it started, invested to get their steem power really high which attracts upvotes or had a plan and went through with it.

Track Your Progress

Know what you enjoy posting about and do so for about a week (at least 5-10 posts). After a week, use SteemTracked.com and discover your averages as it will indicate whether you are on the right direction by comparing to the previous week.

This also lets you know what you need to do as well. Whether you need to make more posts, network more and/or improve post quality.

Also, post in other categories and analyze the response you get. It may be better or worse and you'll only know once you've tried.

Thank to @thomasaquinasftw for resteeming this. I'm now following @shango.

Thanks! Will check out your content.

I'm still trying to find my niche and decide where I can be most useful and productive on Steemit. I have limited talent but I do have available time and knowledge on a lot of topics. The "Have a Plan" note was like a slap on the forehead moment for me. I really need to map out a plan and get some consistancy in my posting. Thanks for the help and the information!

I'm glad you found this post useful! Most people come into Steemit without a plan or think that 1 post is meant to make 50s or 100s. Once you get the consistency rolling, you'll start to build momentum.

Good solid advice!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it and use this information to maximize your earnings on Steemit.

Really great post.
Just keep swimming... just keep swimming....

Yup! Keep going until you can get an average and then you'll know what you need to do to get your the results you demand.

This is pretty awesome analysis! Thank you for sharing.

Steem is a lot of work. But it is a cumulative effect. The little bits and pieces you put in every day add up in the end.

A snowball can turn into an avalanche if thrown in the right spot. Keep throwing, there is no magic bullet.

Thanks @shango. This has given me some good thoughts to my approach!

Thanks glad you liked it mike.

"A snowball can turn into an avalanche if thrown in the right spot"
Perfect quote to summarize this post.

In business we also call this an economy of scale.

That's correct and I remember being introduced to it in a top marketing company.

Thanks, glad you found this post useful!

This is some solid advice, thanks for sharing. I've been trying to stay more consistent on my own posts, but I usually am pretty good about networking, commenting on peoples posts and viewing steemit more than filling it.

Welcome to Steemit! I wish you a good day and inspiration to create in our community! Please follow me :) and upvote all my post and i do the same.

This article was about the ways to do things right and this comment was an example of the ways to do things wrong. Don't ask someone to upvote all your posts. Maybe take time to make posts and comments worth upvoting instead.
