Paypal Partnering To Accept Cryptocurrency @senseicat
Paypal filed an application for an "Expedited Virtual Currency Transaction System" published on March 1 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The company is attempting to increase the speed of crypto payments via buyers and sellers using private keys between the merchant and the consumer directly.
Peter Thiel, a co-founder for PayPal is heavily invested in Bitcoin called Founders Fund which happens to be a venture capital firm that he also co-founded.

My gut is even more so they're using this to try to target the international money transfer money (e.g., people sending money back from the U.S. to Mexico, India, SE Asia, etc.). Pretty big opportunity for Paypal and good move in the right direction for blockchain!

That is great for cryptocurrency. PayPal, on the other hand, really needs everything it can do to stay in business. This a step in the right direction for PayPal.
