I Did Some Steemit Promotion: Steemit.com Will Be the Default Homepage of the Popular Demo Phones in a Phone Store I Used to Work At
During lunch break at work today, I decided to browse around at my former employer's store. The employer is the second biggest phone/internet service provider in Finland. I'm friends with the store's boss and had a chat with him about stuff.
Then the idea hit me to have steemit.com be the default homepage for the demo phones that are in display at the store. The boss was more then okay with it, so now Steemit will get some free advertising every time someone goes there to try out the new iPhone 7, for instance (with some workarounds, for instance with the iOS Safari it is the only Favorite available when the browser is opened, and the user is likely to click on it since he just wants to check out a web page).
I know from experience that the web browser is usually among the first things that people test out. Also, they usually try out how the browsing works with whatever the opened website is. This means that it's likely that they will be browsing steemit.com whenever they try it out.
The store gets very frequent visitors throughout the day.
Let's hope some people browse around the site enough to get interested.
Brill idea well done :)

Great idea! promote Steemit ;)
And I might do more of this, too, since I'm friends with a lot of the people in charge. Provided that it's okay with them, of course. But I have a way of being persuasive, I'm in sales, haha.
Classic!! That is such a great idea. Drop hints everywhere.
Thanks, @hilarski. :)
Cool. Small things add up.
Haha, this is kinda like guerilla marketing - but with permission! Love it :D
I love the idea, but I wish the Steemit message was better than 'Welcome to the Blockchain'. It reads like an invite to a technology conference, rather than a blogging platform.
