STEEMIT – The Field of Dreams for the Crypto World
“If you build it, they will come” is one of the most recognized quotes in movie history. It just seems to carry weight and when it does fit into a moment of life, it always seem to be a pivotal moment.
That is why I believe STEEMIT is the Field of Dreams for the crypto world.
I wonder if @dantheman and @ned heard the whispers of that quote when working on STEEMIT?

In the movie the field was built so ghosts of banned baseball players from the 1919 Chicago "Blacksox" could play once again. However, we now all know the actual reason was so Kevin Costner’s character could play catch with his estranged deceased Father, i.e, play catch with his father one last time.
The kicker was he had no idea that this would happen. He did all that work and took the chance building that field despite his financial situation. Did it strictly on faith, on the feeling he had in his gut.
Field of Steam
We as members of STEEMIT are in the same postion. There is a chance nothing comes of this. There is also the chance STEEMIT creates a paradigm shift in society the way facebook did, hell, the way the assembly line did!
Or it could just fall somewhere in between those points. Either way, we write, curate and comment because we BELIEVE. Sometimes that emotion is enough compensation in itself.
As current members, we are involved at what is still the infancy of STEEMIT.
There is great opportunity for each of us to find our niche and essentially build a brand discussing and sharing a topic that we are passionate about. A topic that brings knowledge and joy to others. To have an encompassing positive impact on all the other members, thus on society.
AND YOU CAN MAKE $$$ DOING IT! ?! Hell, I have casually been writing blog posts elsewhere about finance and markets for free years on end. Compensation is just icing on the proverbial cake, but a delicious icing it is!
Shout out to @rangertx who commented in a post with the “If you build it they will come" line. That was the moment the idea for this post jumped into my head.

AND for the cinematic purists, I know technically the quote is “if you build it, HE will come” but everyone always says they!!!

Yes, Great article... its going to be interesting to see what evolves from Steemit at the 1 year mark.. I bet it will surprise us all..
Agreed @marco-delsalto, it took a little time for the possibilities of steemit to resonate with me, now I'm just giddy like a school kid. Also, the chance to be a part of building something from the early stages creates a sense of pride. "Steemitism" if you will.
