Forests are a renewable resource. Nothing wrong with using and managing that resource. Can't speak for places like Africa, but poor people with few options will use whatever resources are available to put food on the table. Anyways, my big soap box speal here is that let's not cry about some trees being cut down while we wipe our asses with paper, and live in wood framed houses, use barbecue briquets ,etc...all requiring the harvest of trees.
