📌 Flagging famous users? - Makes zero sense

Short read - 1 min

Recently I've observed a lot of flagging from users against what they view as an injustice in the distribution of upvotes.

There is this view from certain users that it's wrong that famous newcomers are well rewarded simply by virtue of their fame.

My question is: Why does it matter?

Now, they would probably argue that it's "unfair" or that these users "haven't worked as hard" as them.

But I fail to understand why it's their problem.

How do their successes directly affect your quality of life?

Why introduce an unnecessary worry?

Another point is the expectation of equity.

At the heart of this expectation, is a view that users should distribute upvotes in a manner that they regard as appropriate.

Why do you get to dictate how people should invest their upvotes?

I think it's also worth considering this question:

Is it in your interest to flag a famous user?

No.

You're making an unnecessary enemy.

Even more so, if you expect these users to attract a lot of upvotes - you're making an enemy that you expect to be powerful.

Does that sound rational?

I urge users to consider what is in their best interests, and what directly affects them.

I am convinced that this will lead to less frustration, and greater success on Steemit and in life in general -

As users will spend less time worrying about non-existent problems, and have more time to concentrate on how to improve their position.

I intend to write a series of posts detailing strategies newbies can employ to optimize their economic performance on Steemit.

Check out another post from this series:

- Should a newbie care about a four-post-penalty? - No.

My personal favourite is when they flag me for no damn reason..!

"How do their successes directly affect your quality of life?"
A lot of people unfortunately live by those views in life. Feeling like if their neighbor has a bigger house and gets a better pay, they are somehow "stealing from your prosperity".

People should note that even though votes per day may not be unlimted on users, followers aren't limited and they should start following the content they like and maybe at the same time make friends for a longer time forward.

Remember this is the very beginning of the age of this blockchain. :)

Yep, exactly.

True that we're at an early age. But as you said it seems to be wider societal problem. This constant envy. Hopefully, it won't persist.
