Flaws on the 'views' element of Steemit.
I would really love to get more views for my work on Steemit and it is proving difficult. I have also found a flaw in the 'views' element. When I view my own post it puts another view on the counter, meaning that it is misrepresenting the views and this is not great for a couple of reasons; It doesn't show the link of value between views and votes AND it is misleading as the view system does not represent unique views.
I did a test earlier and found that a post I had up had (taking away my views) had 19 views, but shows as 39 (I viewed it 20 times)
Out of that 19 views that viewed my post...how do I know if they were all unique visitors or not.
Any thoughts on this system ?

Thoughts:
1, as of now, it doesn't matter to anyone but the author, honestly, or as insurance against Grumpy and other big fish that like to downvote high payouts without many views.
2, it should. It should be set to record unique views to give better perspective on readerhship
3, views, along with votes, and not just payout amount, should be calculated more heavily in the "trending" algorithm.
Agree on all three accounts. It grinds my gears that people get huge payouts with low views...however, people can cheat to get higher views. Stopping bots and working on 'unique views' should create a good account...if that is possible. (Ps this is on my author account its sarah, in case of confusion !)
Very good point! I also wish that this could be improved somehow. Right now the Views count doesn't make much sense. I repeatedly refreshed my first post and was so happy about the number of visitors, until I came to realisation that I was just admiring myself :)
Hahaha YES! it's a little silly, I didn't click on until I went onto my web analytics and it showed me all my unique visitors... maybe that is something for one of the big wigs here to work out.
