1. What is Savoy?

As many know "Savoy", is the name of a brand born in Venezuela, which focused for decades to produce chocolate. The Beer brothers, Rodolfo, Roberto and Fernando, worked in a factory in Austria, until the situation (World War) they were forced to emigrate to Latin America. They arrived in Venezuela in 1941, counting only on their knowledge. In July of the same year they are associated with John Miller, a Venezuelan of Scottish descent, who brought from that country machinery to make chocolate.

2. Where does the name Savoy come from?

The name was chosen in honor of a London hotel in which Miller was staying when he traveled to England, and which for him was a symbol of excellence and high quality; besides, it was easy to pronounce in any language.

3. Where in Venezuela did Savoy begin operations?

The beginning was at home. First one was rented one that adjoined with the fifth San Esteban in the sector The Valley of Caracas, they were acquiring the neighboring houses, until they could build a plant in that same land. Then, in 1959, they moved to the well-known Boleíta plant, also located in the capital.
