UNDERSTANDING THE KEY TO PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE

According to wikipedia Understanding is a psychological process related to an abstract or physical object, such as a person, situation, or message whereby one is able to think about it and use concepts to deal adequately with that object.
According to dictionary Understanding connote the following:

1. Ability to comprehend

2. Sympathetic awareness and tolerance especially to other people feeling.

3. Having insight of good judgement.

4.Capacity to apprehend relating issues.

Quarrels, fighting, wars and rebellion that occurs in our society many a times is not caused by clash of interest by misUnderstanding(lack of understanding).
The inability for us to patiently listen to other people's view and a mind of superiority complex. Understanding would go a long way to promote peaceful co existence in our communities and the world at large. Some times both parties might be makinng the same point and trying to attain the same goal but the medium or channel of communication and attitude towards coming to conclusion might be understanding will lead to clash of interest and even violent outbreak.
For a country to be peaceful and move forward, the leaders must understand its citizen vice-versa loke in the family too, the parent must understand themselves and the children also.

1. PATIENT : Patient is the number one attribute of understanding, we communicating or conversing we need to be patient so as to get the right message oir fellow is trying to pass. Patient entails been quiet and talking when neccessary.

2. OPEN MINDED : Many at times we closed our heart and determine to to allow the word been spoken to us sink into our heart or brain, close mind is already prepared for quarrel.

3.LOVE : love, the greatest virtue a man should posses, love is caring, accommodative, ready to listen. Understanding cannot be attain when we dont love our neighbour. Love open our heart to recieve anything without grudge or anger.

4.CHANNEL :There must be a communication channel before understanding can take place at all. We have to create a conducive and good channel or medium to communicate.

5.HUMILITY : Humility is key to understand views, opinions, conversation e.t.c we need to humble our self to get the best out of any issue.

*PROCESS OF UNDERSTANDING

1. LISTEN MORE : For other for us to understand we should listen more and talk less. When we talk more we interupt our fellow and then tends to divert the initial reason for bringing up a particular topic.

2. MEDITATE : Take your time to think over what has been said to you. Many at time worda does not make immediate sense but we sit back and meditate on what have been said, we understand the more and get the main reason when the issue was communicated to us.

3. MAKE RESEARCH : After meditating on issues and we are not clear, lets take our time to research or consultation about such issue to get more views and expositiion about such issue.

4. DONT BE BIAS : Dont be bias or sentimental in giving judgemeny, we should do without favouritism, we should not take side. This is a trending issue in our society because we tend to be bias because of our tribe, religion, colour e.t.c while giving judgement and this has lead to so many problems.

5. BE SLOW TO CONCLUDE : Lastly let always be slow to conclude as understanding is a process..we should not conlude on issue as we hear them.

Misunderstanding simply means lacknof understanding, where there is no understanding, the following might occur:

1. Quarell
2. Fight
3. War
4. Anarchy
5. Loss of life and property.
