The Role Of Commenting On Steemit

Its been a while since I dropped a full blown post on steemit. As usual, @samiwhyte is known to drop a post on daily basis, but for days now my blog seems inactive. The amount of posts on ones blog doesn’t tell how active one is on the platform. I may not have been blogging but I’ve been very much active here for the past few days.

Steemit is a place of interaction; it is a place of socialization. Steemit goes beyond just dropping a post and logging off, only to login next to drop another post. Your success on steemit goes beyond posts, it goes beyond the upvotes or amount cash out after the waiting period. Steemit is a social media, therefore interaction is of outmost important. I may not have been blogging lately but I have been busy interacting with other users.

Comments

Commenting is very essential here on steemit, you get to dig deeper into the bloggers mind through your comments. Sometimes your comments makes the blogger go further, revealing to you what you didn’t understand in the post. You get to know more about the post from replies to comments and sometime the intent or mind of the blogger can be gotten/express in comment section. Questions are answered in comment section, while stay confuse when comment can bring more clarity to subject.

Sometimes what we need on steemit isn’t more followers but more friends. Interacting in comment leads to friendship and this bonds goes beyond just upvotes but to other areas like support and partnership. Commenting increase your friend base on steemit.

Followers can leave you when you are stuck, but friends sticks to you, no matter the condition.

Commenting initiate communication and conversation, this conversation can then be move to other chat channel like discord and steemitchat. People don’t want to be spam in their inbox but conversation can be moved there after being initiated in comment. Buzzing a friend isn’t a spam, so why not make friends through comments and then the buzz on inbox.

Comments shows that you have people who reads your work. Its encourage the writer to want to write more or wrte better next time. Comment shows the level of impact one is making on steemit through his blog. It’s tells what people think or get from your blog. It helps you to evaluate the level of progress you’ve made with your post and apply necessary adjustment if needed.

Relevant comments sometimes fetch more cash out than quality posts. Most people, especially newbies who visits blogs and drop relevant comments earn more from comments than from their blogs. For a newbies, commenting is one way of ensuring you have nice cash out while you are trying to get your feet on steemit.
