Hello steemit friends. How are we doing today? So i wanted to share my experience with using steemit for a month now. I joined last year december and now,i am about to move into my second month.yay!

I know that there are alot of newbies that join this great app every single day so i thought,why not share some tips i know?

Increasing your reputation here is one of the hardest thing you can think of. But with some tips and tricks like the one i am about to share with you,it might be easier for you.

I went from 25 to 32 in just one month although i wasnt engaging for about two weeks due to some personal reason. I just hope you pick one or two tips and start implementing them and watch your reputation shoot! Okay,without any further delays lets get started.

why is reputation important?
As a newbie,this is something you should try to increase for now,not your account balance! Yes,your reputation is the most important number. Why? Because accounts with high reputation are percieved to have high quality content.

Did you know that some even upvote your contents without even reading it sometimes because you have a high reputation account? This means that by having a high reputation account,you are increasing your chance of your posts being noticed more quickly,leading to more upvotes. How cool is that?!?

Ways to increase your reputation

1.post high quality contents only:

when ever you want to write a post,always remember that quality should always come before quantity because quality is more important. You are trying to get noticed and maybe get a few upvotes here and there and what leads people to upvote your content? The quality of it. So please and please,try writing to help others or inspire them. Dont write just to get upvotes because you will want to win your readers trust so that they will always come back for more.

2.post 1-2 posts everyday:

and make sure they are of HIGH quality. Its better to write one great amazing post than 3 crappy ones. Like i said, quality over quantity!

3.comment frequently:

this is important. Take time to engage with other peoples post. Tell them what you like or learnt from it and if you have an other suggestion, tell them. Your comments should add value,otherwise, dont post them. By commenting on popular posts,you are giving yourself more exposure which can lead to more people checking your account and even following you!! And also dont forget to reply comments under your post. This is as important as well because you want your readers to feel like they can engage with you.

4.Be competitve:

yes, always try to be unique! We are all trying to get votes from the whales(people who hold millions of steem power). Did you know that one vote from a whale can get you between $100-$500?!?! Now thats some crazy shit you dont want to miss!

5. Always be unique, consistent and patient:

growing your reputation is something you need to be patient with. But the great thing is that once you blow, you will never be down again. So take your time to write unique posts.come up with ideas and topics people never wrote about. Have your own style of writing. Why are you trying to fit in when you are born to stand out?!?!

There you have it guys. I hope you learnt one or two things from this post especially the newbies out there struggling. I am also a newbie but i have a one month experience.
