I guess I'm kind of curious what other people's vision for Steemit. Do we want Steemit to stay an insular platform ie very focused on Crypto and Steemit or are we actually trying to get a wide array of content creators and content types on here? I had assumed the latter since there was always a big push to bring on celebrities and Youtube creators.

If that's the case then like you said it doesn't make sense for this platform to remain so crypto focused. I get its a crypto platform and that should be a focus but it can't be all the site is about. Maybe 5% of the population has an interest in crypto and that's being pretty generous, so we can't bring on the masses appealing to 5% or less of the population.

I also agree with you about the UX. The search function on here is abysmal, the algorithm isn't great. People have high expectations for a social media platform when they come from Youtube, Instagram, Reddit etc so when they come over here and the site's down, they get error messages, the search function doesn't work, it doesn't leave them with a good first impression
